Menopause is the name used to call the process in which women ceases the menstruation cycle. This is usually but does not have to, experienced by women during their late 40´s and early 50´s.
The menopause, does not occur from one day to another, this is very slow and occurs during over a period of years. This is not a disease, it´s just a change or turning point but for many women this is a very exhausting transition. Menopause is the outcome of the permanent cessation of the main functions of the human ovaries: the ripening and release of ova and the discharge of hormones that cause both the creation of the uterine lining and the subsequent shedding of the uterine lining.
Symptoms may include:
Sudden hot flashes
night sweats
pain during intercourse
increased anxiety or irritability
need to urinate more often.

In addition to the symptoms mentioned above, menopause can also get a person depressed, and/or the period can get shorter or longer, heavier or lighter, or the interval can also vary.
